The Chivas Venture contest, created by the company Chivas Regal, aims to promote global entrepreneurship and companies whose goals are to positively impact the environment and the communities. The Colombian-based enterprise Paramo Snacks has been chosen as one of Colombia’s five finalists for this international competition, for which the prizes include a one-million-dollar prize and participation in London Acceleration Week.
The prizes will be granted to the winner of the final stage of the contest, which will be held in Toronto, Canada in 2021. Paramo Snacks successfully stood out among the eighty participating companies due to its creativity and mission to aid in the protection and preservation of paramo ecosystems. These are endangered ecosystems well-known for their natural water reserves, and Paramo Snacks has made it their goal to work alongside native farmers to ensure the paramos are well taken care of, which is what led this company to the contest’s ‘Top 5’, granting them international recognition.
